About Us

Since opening its doors as an emergency homeless shelter in 1983, Lazarus House has been breaking the cycle of poverty from its base in Lawrence, Massachusetts, one of the poorest cities in New England.  Over the years our supporters have resounded to the needs of this community.  The people served by Lazarus House live a daily struggle to get their most basic needs met.  Our food and clothing programs assist families by stretching their dollars so they can afford rent, heat and utilities.  Transitional housing provides a safe haven for homeless families and individuals.  Our work preparation program enable guests to become self-reliant.  Lazarus House continues to be a beacon of hope in the darkness of poverty.  To learn more about Lazarus House visit our website.

About The Event

Hundreds of thoughtful people will Hike for Hope on Sunday, September 27 to raise much needed funds for people we serve in our community. The young and the young at heart will walk three miles together with friends, families, co-workers, schools, civic and faith-based organizations through the picturesque streets of Andover.

Under the direction of Dave McGillivray, President, DMSE Sports, Inc. and Race Director of the Boston Marathon, this family-and-community-focused fall event is a celebration of music, entertainment, food and the goodness of people coming together to help those in need among us.
